Caddy does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Caddy sends nothing about you anywhere. See "Page icons" below for the one case where your browser contacts another server on Caddy's behalf.
What Caddy stores When you choose to save a page, Caddy stores that page's URL, title, icon, the time you saved it, any description you type, and which other saved pages you have connected it to.
Where it is stored In your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on the device you are using. It is not synced to other devices and is not accessible to us or to anyone else.
Text selection Pressing the copy shortcut reads the text you have selected on the current page and places it on your clipboard along with the page title and link. That text is never stored by Caddy and never leaves your computer.
Page icons When Caddy shows a list of saved pages, it displays each page's icon using the icon address the site itself provided. Your browser loads those icons directly from those sites, exactly as it would if you visited them. This means a site can see that your browser requested its icon. No information about you, your other saved pages, or your browsing is included in that request, and Caddy sends nothing itself.
Removing your data Deleting pages in Caddy's Manage screen removes them permanently. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it has stored.
